Agricultural Conservation Efforts Combat Lake Erie’s Toxic Algae

Every year, Lake Erie’s algae bloom threatens the health and drinking water of more than 11 million people. Watch this short video featuring Anne Schechinger and Ethan Bahe from Environmental Working Group who created a model that’s being used by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy to pinpoint phosphorus focal points and locations of conservation practices that could be implemented to reduce phosphorus runoff to Lake Erie.
